Author Topic: steam wants me to fill out a form  (Read 1546 times)

so i was gonna buy a trading card to make a badge when i get this message:

You have created 151 listings this year. Before you can sell or list more than 200 items in a calendar year, we are required to collect certain information from you. This does not affect buying. Please click here to provide the necessary information. To find out more about this requirement, please visit our FAQ.

the "click here" leads to this form
unfortunately, i don't have a taxpayer indentification number or a social security number
if anyone has come across this, what do i do?

I'll bet it's a scam. was it a chat message?

I'll bet it's a scam. was it a chat message?
no it's an actual thing, a message you get on the steam market page

someone else had this problem too. i think it was maxx

no, it showed this message when you went onto a listing, like this

It's a thing? nevermind then, it just sounded suspicious.

ya its required by law. either dont list so many things or fill out the form

unfortunately, i don't have a taxpayer indentification number or a social security number

You should have a SSN if you are from the US.

If you are not from the US just change the country and the form will change.

Since I'm not in the us I think all they asked from me was my address or something.

I spammed a bunch of random stuff and surprisingly it worked

I needed to do allot of this stuff just to submit something to the workshop lol

i was able to just fill it out by using my old address, old city old state old zip code and my real name and a fake ssn
steam doesnt track you for it or anything of the such because they simply dont give a stuff
whoever starts yelling "fraud"!!! i really dont care since the only thing i would sell is csgo items and those barely cost anything.

but yea dont be afraid to fill it out now and get it over with doing the stuff i mentioned, worked for me
