Day 32 / Monday, September 24th, 2017

Somehow, this room seems even smaller when properly lit.
It's really pouring out there. You can really smell the rain through the vents. Speaking of the vents, you've identified an, uh... problem. The generator makes smoke.
Yeah, yeah. Look, you had a lot on your head, okay? You sort of glossed over the fact that generator makes smoke.
Currently, the vents are good enough to handle it, though you don't wanna find out for how long. You need a better solution.
In other news, you might have some trouble digging down too, given that you'd have to carry the dirt outside...
As for a tally of the supplies currently on hand:
- some tools, like a drill, a shovel, etc
- some miscellaneous cables
- canned foods, with a few perishables in the mini fridge
- a glock, with some ammo
- a portable generator, with a week or two worth of fuel
- a pair of gasmasks with a stock of filters and a portable air tank for emergencies
- some pipes, bars, metal wire, scotch tape, etc: the workshop basics
- some spare light bulbs and other components for the air system and various
- a decent bed with a thick blanket and a comfy pillow. it gets surprisingly cold down here at night.
- a laptop. nothing to run crysis 3 on or anything but it's still good
- a smartphone, with some headphones which you can use as an antenna (no, really, look it up) to listen to radio
Speaking of which, you've checked on the radio. It looks like you made the right choice. Most of the states are in quarantine, as uneffective as that is. The infection is also slowly spreading towards Michigan. You expect it'll be here pretty soon. Guess the initial estimates were a bit high, huh?
