Author Topic: [NEWS] DEA declares marijuana has no medical benefit, will remain illegal  (Read 9976 times)

i said good to it remaining illegal because that's what the title says
any replies towards me believing that it's on the same scale of damage as cocaine and heroin is a misunderstanding of my post
why should it remain illegal though?

Except making it schedule 2 doesn't make it legal??? You're really just letting how little you know on the subject shine through.

i'm not a government agent so you're barking up the wrong tree for that answer

i didn't say anything about that fammuel

there are 2 chemical components to the plant, THC (the hallucinogen) and CBD (the medicinal part)

Getting high off THC isn't really dangerous at all unless driving (but as i've been high myself i don't think driving high is much of a problem either. on that note, has there even been a statistical correlation between car accidents and driving whilst high?)

CBD is anti-inflammatory, anti-anxiety, anti-pain, and anti psychotic.

my mother works in the medical marijuana industry and has helped many cancer patients, those who suffer from mental ailments such as PTSD and schizophrenia. to say it's purely recreational is just ignorant really.

So to clarify, you think the drug should stay illegal, but you don't know why? Okay.

So you came in here just by reading the title and not actually understanding any of the actual material for the event?

Honestly I think this has a lot to do with big pharma not wanting med to take over the painkiller market so they can continue selling OPIOD painkillers.
Opiods are proven to be effective pain killers. We don't have any non-opiods that are close to as effective.
Cannabis wouldn't replace most opiods as they're used for stronger pains. If there were an industry who felt challenged by cannabis as a low level pain killer it would be aspirin/ibuprofen/paracetamol. Your regular over-the-counter drugs, not prescription painkillers.

every single loving post on this forum is bait because believe it or not people have differing opinions and like to argue

i do know why my personal opinion is for it to stay illegal but that's not the answer he wants

anyways here's my opinion: i believe that it should stay illegal because it has almost no place to be used in medicine. people only use it for recreational purposes. there are multiple alternatives to whatever problem you're encountering but people choose to use weed instead of an alternative because it gets them high.
as i've stated before a while ago this is also a highly personal matter as i've lost a lot of friends to weed. their way of thinking and personality has changed drastically after they've started smoking it and i don't want it to happen to any more friends.

you're looking to validate your own opinion of me being an idiot when i answer yes to this question
it is not a sincere question but yet an assertion of me in the form of a question
answer: yes
expected reply: you're an idiot

so should alcohol and tobacco be illegal too by that logic, then? any form of substance that you inhale or ingest for fun should be prohibited by the law?

it's just weed, it's fun and makes you hungry. we'd know more about any possible detrimental effects if the government just researched it already. oh wait...

it's naturally medicinal. a lot of people smoke it because they enjoy the high, but there are a lot of people who use recreational marijuana to ease pain or whatever their problem is, too. then there's the medical marijuana which is just that: medicine without the high.

the difference is that people aren't claiming that alcohol and tobacco cure cancer
also yes smoking tobacco and drinking alcohol should be illegal because for some reason they are legal forms of self harm

as someone who uses it to fall asleep because of insomnia and as a pain reliever cause my back sucks, i would argue that it definitely has useful qualities that are applicable to the world of medicine

Well, tbh, tobacco should be illegal. Alcohol too, but that won't be successful, and even I as a very irregular drinker would miss it.

Also, I bet the US has researched the forget out of cannabis, in secret. Certainly nothing stopped them richarding around with LSD.
