Author Topic: Zendaya will be playing Mary Jane in the newest Spiderman reboot  (Read 6435 times)

yeah thats dumb as stuff too but this is arguably dumber. there are a lot of good black characters in the spider-man books that they could use but they decide to randomly change the race of almost every established character in this movie for no reason.
they could have also gotten someone else to play deadshot instead of randomly changing his race and casting him as will smith

difference is the movie would've been terrible if will smith didn't take a prominent role as deadshot. because y'know he's amazing

the movie was terrible anyways but will smith was a welcome improvement
that's just theory i guess though, idk much about spiderman specifically, in some cases obviously certain marks or features do serve a valid storytelling purpose. does mary jane having red hair mean a lot in the story or is it just how she's always been portrayed?
she's still gonna have red hair, zendaya's just gonna dye her hair like every other actress for mary jane

Only reason why I know her is that (don't hat plz) I used to watch her Disney channel show, "Shake it up". Pretty interesting to see how see will do in 2 years.

Oh i neglected to say it sucked despite him being in the movie.

But he was really the main motivation to keep watching the movie.

why is she black and not red haired

you make it sound like mary jane is a real person

it's one character and it's not even that much of a difference visually (see above)he's here to drop it like the nasdaq
flash thompson, liz allan, ned leeds, shocker, etc. are all being race changed. its really the laziest possible route you can take to diversify your movie instead of using or creating new characters
you make it sound like mary jane is a real person
congrats, you have added nothing to the conversation. using the "its fiction" excuse to try to shut down any conversation is lame as stuff.

by the way wasn't the last reboot like two loving years ago what the hell

It's Sony, spiderman is their only real franchise

you make it sound like mary jane is a real person

You make it sound like Mary Jane is an undefined character

Well these comic book characters have gone through like 10+ different iterations anyways so does it really matter how "faithful" you are to a character's hair or skin color instead of their internal defined traits

the reboot was 2012, the movie that made them realize they needed to let marvel re-reboot it was in 2014.
