"no guy buy"
"no one's buy"

Looks like the last one. There is nothing behind it.

notice the different prices, the shelf isn't exclusively for no mans sky

He's more than likely talking about how there's nothing is behind it.
It's because some stores, such as target, as seen in the picture, has the game inside a case for the person to grab and see the back of it to see more about the game.

Notice this thing here? That looks like something that retracts so you can grab it and look at it, sorta like the displays models of phones.
Whenever you want to purchase the game you'd have to tell and employee and they'd have to get the game out the back or something.

Do you know how retail loving works?

Front shelf is for the highest rated games right now.

This.

There is nothing behind it in the glass case so that is the last copy.

So all copies behind it were sold out.

it doesnt look like one of those pushy things to me but that might just be me.

it looks like one of those theft indicators on an empty plastic box, though it doesn't really make much sense to put those there unless theres a game inside, so yeah it's probably a pushy thing

I'm like 90% sure that's a display cabinet
How it woks is the game on the outside is attached to those cable things you see on other electronics and you're allowed to pick it up and look at the box. If you decide to buy it the worker comes over, unlocks the cabinet and pulls one out behind the glass.

I don't know jack stuff about retail tho, just a guess on my part.

Go to target, they have stuff behind the glass.

so all the highest rated games except NMS were bought

there is only space for one copy.

In AUS we just show off the boxes and keep the games themselves behind the counter, people take the box of the game they want to the counter then they give you a box with the game in it once you pay.

seems really odd to me that they case it in like that, is there an issue with people stealing game boxes?

and yes I'm aware the other thing I said a couple hours ago didn't make sense in relation to what Tony was talking about

Uhhhh, they give you a box? Down here, you take the box to the counter and then they put the CD, manual and any other paper slips inside it (under the desk there's a stack of draws with A-Z envelopes for every game's contents). The only exceptions are for sealed games which obviously they can't open, although I have seen a couple really stuffty $1 games at EB that they don't even bother with.

And yeah, you'll notice the case thing with American chains that have stores over here, like Toys 'R' Us or Target. In order to curb stealing, the products are locked away in glass cases which are alarmed; only way to get the games out is to have a staff member use their key to disable the alarm and the lock. I remember those bloody glass cases being over here as far back as 2000, if not earlier.

Yeah Walmart does the same thing here in Canada

there is only space for one copy.

I know how retail works. There is not one space for a loving copy, there is a space for 50+ copies.

So someone bought about 50 loving copies of NMS and it just so loving happens 1 was left. Seems like NMS is selling regardless.

Google target cases if you don't believe me on how they loving work.

You can even see the lock in the middle of where they open the case to get the game.

Maybe the staff knew it wouldn't sell well so they only put 1 copy out?

That's not how retail works.

At walmart even if a game doesn't sell we have 50+ loving copies of it in the game case and it covers 3 or 4 slots.

Plus that's the front case at Target where they showcase the latest games or games gone on sale. So yeah, it's in the front case with intent to sell fast.
