Aesthetically, I think Hyper Light Drifter is really up there. I mean just look at this. Listen to this.
I really enjoyed the gameplay too, but I wouldn't consider it revolutionary, just really refined.

It's a really unified world though.

I can't decide on a single game, so here's a list of games that I like a lot, in no particular order:

• SOMA
• Ocarina of Time
• Saints Row 2-4
• Half-Life franchise + the spin offs
• Grand Theft Auto 5 and San Andreas
• Dark Souls
• Blockland

It's stange how no one has tried to make a "Blockland, but better" so far, and what I mean with better is more tools, more possibilities, higher brick limit, better performance etc.

more customization, more weapons, shooting while driving, cooler animals to fight, more fun side quests, multiplayer that doesn't suck pure star fish, the arena, the map editor is leagues better
i can't really understand how people prefer 3 other than the different locations and characters. gameplay wise 3 falls short.

Deus Ex is possibly the best game you can ever play. JC Denton is still one of my favorite protagonists to play as I just enjoyed it's concept of going all over the world in a conspiracy simulator game. Hong kong was the best part of the game for me.

Halo 2 is loving amazing and kick ass, I've never played such an amazing story in my life and the Arbiter is the best protagonist I've ever played as in a game. I re-played that game last week after 8 years and I was thrilled with nostolgia

The sims 2 is still my favorite sims game and is better than the sims 3 and 4

Timesplitters 2 and FP will always be the best FPS games made on this planet

horrible vehicle physics
less weapons
no dual wielding
