Author Topic: Mod to generate environments for pre-select from user customization  (Read 1629 times)

Okay, so basically what I am thinking of here is this:

You know how you can customize the environment now with the environment menu as an admin/host, and that there are pre-selection options on the "simple" tab?

Now, suppose you were able to save any custom made map designs you do as a future pre-select option. That's what I am needing here.

Thoughts/Support? Anyone up for doing this?

Reason I need it: Vital for easily creating environment maps to simulate warp travel for my future Star Trek RP.

Sounds like the Procedural Terrain Generator to me.

It's nothing like procedural terrain generator. I'm talking about environments. AKA the environments menu on the admin tab.

sort of like avatar preferences but environment preferences

that's i think what he wants which would be pretty useful

No we already have an environment preferences mod. I have that and I use it. But I need one that generates it into its own environment and puts it into the pre-select menu.

so like an instant-environment-maker

takes your current environment and turns it into an actual selectable environment mod

Yeah, exactly

Like, it would need to be a host-controlled-only mod though since it could be easily abused to spam tons of identical copies of the same environment, and so forth.

Perhaps it could be operated via chat commands like

/generateenvironment Alien_Skybox_Five

or something like that

you could just use environment saver if you need to save premade environment settings
find it on some rtb archive. the vignette loading is bugged though if you use multiply

Make it a event that forces players to do it

Also make it so you can select sky.delete

What would it actually do? I'm confused. How is this any different from just selecting the skybox from the non-advanced settings?

Basically he wants an option that turns the current custom environment into an environment add-on.
