Dear god no. If you're actually going to go through with making an improved version of blockland, make it on a better engine with a scripting language that isn't torquestuff. Torque and all renditions of torque are absolute crap compared to anything modern. Like, TGE was okay for when blockland was made, and Blockland in T3D was literally decided to not be a good idea by badspot and rotondo.
To be perfectly honest, torque is probably one of the more better engines to do this on. Unreal and Unity seem way over their heads, although unreal would be a nice touch, we can't include modder support, and some main features of the game we want to implement. it's not really the best idea but it's all we have to go with.

Wasn't BeamNG made in torque

You literally don't know what you're talking about. Please stop while your hole is only a foot deep.

The current game is fully running on Torque3D 3.9.

Why limit yourself? Use a better engine.

Why limit yourself? Use a better engine.
none of the dev team is capable of using something else except for probably viso

also Anthony asked badspot if he could use the bedroom map and got rejected

It's not. Unity is probably not a good engine for it, I agree on that point, but only because it's a well known fact that they don't handle lots of dynamic shapes well. Unreal engine on the other hand is a completely different story. Just the fact that it's eons ahead of T3D and TGE makes it a ton better. Yeah, it's more advanced, but that's the price you pay for a better all-around game.

Unless you're saying that you can't make it in any other engine because of lack of experience. In that case, there's really no point in doing this because you won't make any significant improvements. As Badspot and Rotondo said, T3D is just not a good engine to use with for a blockland-style game. They're experts on the engine, and this is not an insult, but none of your dev team is. None of us have the experience that they do.

+ kompressor (And he's literally written the book on it!)

plus those models are poo poo

WTF WHO MODELED THIS LOL
it's got a clown's feet and Donald Annoying Orange's hands

except you legally cant make this lol
yeah pretty much

gay af

edit: to be honest if you guys really want to do this you should start thinking outside of the box

like you dont even have to maintain the building style of blockland

tbh im glad they're using torque which could raise the chances of these mods being compatible on the newer version.

Also the blockhead looks ABYSMAL. If that were to be fixed and the game follows Blockland's style, mechanics (yet improved) and just stay true to the original, then I'll definitely buy it.
