Author Topic: [Day 4] I have captured a slug and I am holding it prisoner  (Read 5743 times)

it's a social experiment. 1 like = 1 lettuce

I wasn't paying attention so I didn't notice him wake up and when he woke up he was ABSOLUTELY PISSED that there was no breakfast, so he threw a temper tantrum and decided to protest by trying to climb up the side of the enclosure. I gave him a tomato and now he seems too preoccupied to protest

Name him Slugger, or Escargot (the French word for snail)

He ate a bunch of the tomato and then poo'd so hard he fell asleep. I poked him and he responded so I know he's not dead.

Name him Tony Colon

I'll bet that slug can #climbLikeTony

Got quite a spook for a minute. Noticed a pile of green slime next to the slug. My initial thoughts were that it maybe be victim to some kind of parasite. Then, I figured it might have laid eggs and may be due for an early release date. But I looked it up, and apparently fresh slug turds are just very vibrant green. Also, the star fish of the slug is located very far foward.

Gross, yet interesting, stuff. Literally. If the turds start moving that's a different story though. He made my job easier by taking a stuff on the leaf instead of in the soil so I'll reward him with extra lettuce tomorrow.

I'll bet that slug can #climbLikeTony

The slug is an excellent climber. I'd say it can #climbliketony.

This image doesn't do it justice, but you can see it very nimbly hanging upside down on the Tupperware lid.
