Author Topic: is "the earth is flat" a meme or wot  (Read 10918 times)

can we get back to making fun of flat earthers pls

ur mom's butt is a flat earth

ur mom's butt is a flat earth
i can confirm that, been with her

then please do refrain from arguing because arguments require you to explain what you're saying and why.

Do you miss things on accident or are you this loving stupid

No seriously I'm never going to spoon-feed anyone information that they can easily find themselves

I don't mind explaining more confusing things but giving the definition of nuance when websites like dictionary.com exists is loving bullstuff

you always argue and argue and argue without ever actually saying anything that remotely has any merit to it and on top of that you consistently stuffpost and fling insults around like you're above everyone.
lmao ok

Like that?

Don't act like you don't pull the same stuff

but again that also doesn't give red spy a green light to be a complete cunt

i agree with this more so than the "you can google it" argument

i got the defintion of nuance (i even posted the definiton, and showed you what came up when i searched it on google (a company called nuance and the same definition)) but i still don't know what you meant by "an extreme lack of a small difference of color, meaning, or feeling"
when i asked for an explanation all i got was 'you can't possibly be this handicapped' and reaction images
i think this is fair, though it does involve daswiruch he hasn't been recently posting on this
i didn't get involved because i knew i wasn't gonna get an answer so i resorted to just waiting until i got calmer and more ready to handle this
it's really hard to get your point through to people when you're being an aggressive cunt

i've never seen anything more case in point than this post right here.

here's a great example of 'nuance'

A: I think that the color red is a good color. It's very bright and vibrant and I also like apples, which are red.

B: Not all apples are red. There are green apples. There are also yellow apples. You need to be clear when you express 'apples' because we cant tell if you're discussing all apples or some apples. Also apples may be red and yellow at the same time. You need to clarify this.

A: ... alright cool thanks?

In case you haven't figured out what i'm getting at, nuancing is when you take one of the smallest insignificant details and completely redirect the argument or case on the basis of that one inconsistency. It's actually super loving annoying because the person who made the point in the first place now had their entire argument dismissed and is being held up on one tiny mistake that literally had nothing to do with the actual topic.

I agree with this, people who do this in arguments and do it all the time get extremely loving annoying / irritating after a while, due to them trying to act like a know-it-all and dismiss your entire argument over one tiny insignificant detail

You forgot a period after detail.

Anyone else noticing an extreme lack of nuance
i'm still not sure how there's an extreme lack of it. i really don't get it.
i did in fact redirect the argument on one extremely small detail, so i did perform "nuancing"
also the "google definition" of nuance only pops up for me when i put "nuances." something i didn't do last night

while i'm in the middle of my rant i'd like to turn the rant to something else instead of arguing an inarguable point:
i didn't care about the subject at hand so i didn't post about it anymore and instead, while i still pretty much had the platform, decided to argue about something that i did care about

i'm still not sure how there's an extreme lack of it. i really don't get it.

yeah, it's pretty easy for me to determine whether or not something is sarcasm when there is literally no voice nor emotion in text
(in this case it is because it is literally the opposite of what everybody knows i mean)
