but to look at them and be all like "he's just being nitpicky" is a bit absurd.
It's just a personal issue I have with some of CrowBCat's videos where he sees issues that I don't think matter as much as other, bigger problems (for example, the abysmal state that Arkham Knight launched). The GTA V one was really a pain in the nads for me.

What the actual forget?! That's DOUBLE the price of the first one!
Really? I remember us selling the first game above $60USD RRP, whereas this one is just over.

I couldn't find where I put my spec sheets from conventions past, but if I do find it, I'll let you know.

And THREE pre-order editions?
There are 6 versions of Watch_Dogs. Before I start, please stop refering to them as "pre-order editions", because they're not. They only seem like pre-order editions because they often in a smaller capacity and sell out quickly. I saw at least 50 copies of Halo: Reach Legendary Edition just sitting on a shelf in a Target a couple years after launch.

The 6 editions are:
  • Standard: The standard, base game. No fuss.
  • Deluxe (Download Only): The base game with some additional customisation options. Kinda stupid, but it's there.
  • Gold (Download Only): Deluxe, with the Season Pass (and therefore all DLC content) included. Saves an additional purchase for those who are interested.
  • San Francisco (Retail Only): Deluxe with a bonus mission and some real-life goodies, like a 24cm statue of Marcus and lithographs. Collectors interested in video game memorabilia usually go for this edition.
  • Return of Dedsec: Gold, with a mask, 27cm statue, unique box and some other goodies.
  • Wrench Jr Robot: Gold with a real-life, working Wrench Jr robot that can be controlled by your phone.

Nobody is forced to buy these editions, and they've included some really cool options for those who do want to spend a little extra cash on a game they're excited for. If you're a game sceptic, that's fine, but it doesn't affect your ability to wait for the reviews and judge the gameplay on its merits if other people want their own little robot.

So yes, double the price of the first one, at least for me.

You're going off current prices. Watch_Dogs was released in 2014, and has deprecated in value since then, as does every other non-Activision game (the CoD games just don't go down...). Even GTA V PC is finally reducing its purchase price after years of trying to attract consumers to pay for the full original price with shark card deals.

I'm actually kind of surprised by your argument. I thought you legitimately were talking about the launch price for Watch_Dogs. I've never heard of somebody complain that a new game is double the price of its (2 year old) prequel.

You're absolutely right, I am going off of current prices. Watch_Dogs 2 is currently double the price of Watch_Dogs. I get I worded it poorly, making it seem like I was trying to compare initial prices but that was unintentional. My point is I wouldn't have paid $40 for the first one (Like I said I would have refunded it for constant stuttering issues on my PC), so I'm definitely not going to be paying for the second one unless they right every wrong they committed with the first one AND it receives highly positive reviews.

By that I mean, "Can I actually run it without constant stutters?
Is it fun?
Will I get a decent hours per dollar ratio out of it?
Will, at the end of the experience, I feel that it was worth the money?"

If the likely answer to all of those is yes, then I'll consider buying it on sale. 'Cause I'm not paying $80 for a game under any circumstances.

whether it was worth it or not is way too subjective for me but the stutter issue from the first one was horrendous, my $700 rig that is quite a bit more powerful than a PS4 could barely run WD at 15 frames, it only was fixed when my i5/1070 rig came through that I was able to play it at a whopping 70+ frames, but even then when traveling into the city it would a lot of times drop to 40 FPS, while still playable, just goes to show how horrendous the port itself was.

Otherwise though I'm purchasing WD2 upon release, if performance issues arise then I'll just refund it, did the same thing with Mafia 3 too, but I have hope in Ubisoft for once, maybe they will actually realize how poorly the last game was released and make this a really well optimized port.

Performance issues in the original I can attest to, and that's a tiny part of the reason we had to pull back on the shaders.

The latest version is more stable than launch, but I still find a couple places on my $2000 rig where it hangs for a second. As far as I've tested on the pre-release copies, it seems to be working well. Then again, I said the same thing for Unity...

I'm sure it'll be fine by the time the game comes out

said all preorder'ers ever

Speaking of Unity, I was planning on buying Unity at some point.
I'm guessing it performs much better now?

I'll let you know when I play it. I got Black Flag, Rogue and Unity plus all their DLC yesterday, and Unity is the last one sequentially.

Black Flag was really good, I think you'll like that.

I was originally dreading it because I was not big on the whole sailing thing AC3, but it's coming out nicely. Still feels like forever until the end of the story, but I'm plodding my way through.

Normally for every AC game I try and do all side-quests and collectibles before I do the story, but now that I've got 3 games to try, I want to rush the stories so I can get a taste for their retail versions and figure out where I'd like to spend more of my time.

I think going for side content in Black Flag is a bit more interesting than the other games because in order to get all the treasure you're actually gonna have to sail to new islands and what not, not just exploring every corner of some huge city.

Bump. Game comes out in 5 days. TBH, I lost interest in this game. At first it was major hype, but now I won't be buying the game.

i would be unhyped because of the stuff game the first one ended up being.
but they actually had a chance to learn a lesson. so they got 1 more chance to undo their bullstuff.
