Watch dogs 2 is coming out next month and I'm looking forward to playing this game. I played the first one on Ps4 and I enjoyed it a lot. I know a lot of people believed the first one was bad and in some aspects I agree, such as the story mode and the lack of things to do in the open world. It just got very boring after doing the same things over and over again. On the other hand, I see potential in this second game and I'm willing to give it a chance. I've watched quite a bit of gameplay and I'm not going to lie, I'm very tempted to buy an Xbox One just to play this game. There are some things that I don't like such as the physics, the drone/rc car and the really cringy dialogue, but aside from that the game has improved. The flexibility and new ways of hacking in this game look like a ton of fun, the driving has been said to have improved and the map looks way better this time. And after watching some mission playthroughs, the missions look a lot better this time too. Ubisoft has taken the community's ideas and thoughts into consideration and did better this time. It's also worth mentioning that Ubisoft didn't downgrade the graphics as badly this time around so that's nice.

For those who haven't seen it. Here's some gameplay and dev demo.
Thoughts? Comments? Anyone buying this game?

Classic Ubisoft disappointment coming through. Choo choo.

Thanks for the worthless opinion. Please go back to playing ROBLOX as you do; the real bastion of quality.

Played another pre-release sample. Looking good, although I wish Aiden would still be the protagonist...new guy has some...issues.

The game to me and everything looks amazing so far, just it looks like the driving will still have the very arcade-y on-rails sort of feel but I'm sure it'll be fine by the time the game comes out

Genuinely excited, I quite enjoyed the first one

wish they had character creation because I really couldn't care about aiden and I couldn't care about this guy, but I assume that'd make some complications in the story writing

AC/WD are cinematic titles, and the plots are heavily based on characterisation. I mean, yes, any good writer should be able to pull off a wider deal of customisation, but you have to start asking yourself questions over "If we give the player this amount of control on their avatar, won't they get annoyed they can't influence the story? But if we then start to add branches, how many are necessary to make the game not feel like it comes down to a simple A-B-C ending?"

i watched the 100 min gameplay

visually its okayish, i guess
the town seems kinda empty and lacking of detail
character models are eh
cars all look like toys
the driving looks floaty and the physics aren't the greatest,
better than the first one (?) but this guy doesn't really go all out on testing them
 every car has nitrous?

cars keep disappearing when hes controlling them?

he does very little with the hacking, does it not do anything else? just drive cars remotely, cameras and some doors?

the little he interacts with the enemy ai makes them seem real out of it
so was the police, who managed to lose him when he parked right on the edge of the helicopter spotlight
the pedestrians are kinda sparse, not that smart either, at a point he flips someone off outside a coffee house he is in
and a lady from somewhere behind him comes to yell his head off and everyone loses their stuff when he takes a loving selfie???

thematically the games kinda of a mess too, you're put in to this open world and given tools to do all kinds a stuff but in the story you're a part of some kind of an underground hacker group (but you level up or something by getting more followers?) where you're supposed to do good (guy was car jacking and running over pedestrians while the characters in-game were talking about how they easily come off as the bad  guys going up against this all powerful mega corp and he just forged evidence against some random civ, had a hit man come and try and kill him, like wtf???)

they really try and sell this big brother story stuff so loving seriously but the story is just not made for this kind of open world experience they built around it

Not going to buy another ubisoft game unless they stop downgrading them, so far it looks ok and I want to believe that they won't do it. But it's just happened so many times.

yeah ok let's hype a sequel to a game that was widely overhyped

gotta keep an eye on them

I couldn't play the first one, because my old laptop could not handle it.

This is complete and utter bollocks, and the next person I hear during an event to come up and talk to me about this will get loving strangled because I'm so loving sick and tired of forgetwits who were never going to buy/play the game in the first place trying to one-up us.

Ubi's had a pretty bad track record for a while now McJob. I don't blame too many people not trusting them.

McJob I thought you got banned. :(
Quit being a whiny cunt in the name of entitled developers everywhere again, gosh.
