Hmm, if you plan on not having the "blade" be out when picked up/chosen from tool menu, here are some control suggestions.  Right click and light saber "blade" comes out. Click to swing (might be amusing to be able to attack without blade out). Right click again to make blade retract. Or, when it's chosen, it does that classic "shwoom" sound and animation as the blade automatically comes out.

Oh yeah, forgot, the color of the lightsaber should be the color of your spray can, like the skiis.

Too many round parts and both smooth and flat shading?

Maybe try something in this style?

wow, great model, i think that it would be perfect and blockish if you made the main shape of the handle a rectangle, and made the bottom part a slightly wider circle.
