our office complex is 5 floors inc ground floor, and only the first two is for multimedia. the other 3 are for game artist and development classes.
so its literally a huge loving overflow of stuffty memes, and weird smelly people.
we are also in a separate complex that is not close to the main building so its basically a huge "safespace" for them aswell, meaning they (as in my class) basically came together as a """hivemind""" where any social norm is completely obliterated. its literally the closest you can get to having an internet community, but in real life. They have gotten to the point where a GOOD proportion of my class is openly tribal, and alt-right. SOMEHOW. despite us living in a pretty left country. ive had multiple occasions where the topic of genders comes along where its the same group of people reassuring themselves that there's only two, with no actual chance of someone responding back with a counterclaim - this sometimes happened two if not three days in a row with the same people. another occasion i heard a different group of people talk about genders like that, how transgenders should just get over it, how the japanese and chinese are stealing jobs, AND how black people should just get over slavery "because it was xxx years ago". ALL in one sitting.
I hate using the word but its the closest thing ive ever seen to a unironic circlejerk IRL.
