except some problems are??
there is such a thing as poverty you know
That's nice, but I doubt anyone on the Blockland Forums is poor enough to count as 'oppressed.'
a lot of identity stuff comes to mind. i don't care myself, you can call yourself whatever you like and if it makes you happy go ahead, but it's really insignificant in terms of oppression.
Yeah. If it wasn't a problem in the 70's, it's probably not a problem now. Not being able to discuss your gay love life publicly really doesn't count as oppression to me. Marriage is just a social construct so to say that altering that social construct so that more people can get married is (((progress))) is pretty silly. Additionally I never really understood why transloveual people can't just be treated for anxiety/depression rather than getting a love change.
quotas are hard to work with. It goes both ways. If i tried to apply to a job that had its minority quota met they would probably say no. Likewise, if you're white and you apply to a job that has met its non-minority quota and still has to meet the minority quota, you'd be denied.
Theres no way to stop it. If you remove the quota then all businesses would be 95% white and naturally talented, skilled minority workers would be forced into worse jobs with other minirities. Without the quota, the workforce would resemble property and housing statistics. White people would get the well-developed stuff by default and minority people would get stuffty businesses. As a result, the minority workforce would be eliminated due to social darwinism.
I think you need to be reminded that only 13% of the country is black. If every profession had 87% white/asian people that'd actually be parity. When you factor in the fact that black people tend to be poorer and less educated on top of that, you can see why there's going to be mostly white people. If you want to change that you have to change the symptoms, not just slap on a quota and call the problem fixed.
Also worth mentioning that workplace diversity improves productivity, creativity, and worker comfort. Removing it would be a huge mistake.
Got any source for this?
It honestly sounds like left-wing clickbait, all the sources I've seen say that ethnic diversity decreases social cohesion and trust.
