it also doesn't help to make more of these useless things that

a. no one joins
b. everyone dislikes when the good ones like retro arcade , gloryhole, and the fish tank exist and work fine already
and c. die after maybe a week or two

Read the OP. It's a generic chat room. That means I'm appealing to more than one forum so that it doesn't stay empty.

Look. I get it - we already have a bunch of similar types of these chatrooms. But this is a specifically off topic channel that is open to more than just this community.

first, ask yourself "Is this discord going to be public to the forums or invite only"
if the answer is public, stop
if the answer is invite only, continue

second, ask yourself "Is this discord purely for discussion, or does it have a specific goal in mind"
if the answer is discussion, expect backlash
if the answer is a specific goal, you can probably get away with it but it's going to have a shorter lifespan than a mosquito if you're not constantly doing things with it

that's not the problem the problem is that there have been countless people who've tried to make discords here when there's already a few good ones you could just join instead
