Depends if it's a two-way trip. If it is, I'd probably wait until the end of my life, when I've experienced it all, and go back in time to teach myself a valuable lesson that I wish I'd learned.

I wouldn't use it because I'd be nervous that I'd forget up the future / past. If that wouldn't happen, then I would go sometime back to the either the 1980s or the 1950s.
