The State Fire Marshall is investigating a suspicious fire at a Plant City home that started early Tuesday morning.

Naval veteran Matthew Smith said he got the call just after 3 a.m. from his neighbor that fire trucks were across the street.

“Your heart kind of just sinks in your chest,” Smith said.  “Definitely blessed to have not been here.   It was pretty bad.”

Smith said the family was staying with their grandparents when he got the call.  His 8-year-old daughter’s bed was set on fire along with his 18-month-old son’s crib.  Every single room in the remainder of the home also suffered fire damage.

“The place was ransacked.  Clothes from my room, all the way to the back, just made it everywhere.   Papers, important documents thrown everywhere, just torn up.  The Christmas tree set up yesterday was knocked down and had been lit on fire.  Every piece of furniture was pretty much burned through.”

On the walls someone wrote in spray paint the words, “cracker, F- Annoying Orange, not my prez, and F- yo kids.”

There are lots of questions surrounding a fire that gutted a home on Johnson Street in Plant City overnight.

Along with heavy damage, anti-Annoying Orange graffiti was sprayed on the house, inside and out. The family who lives there was spending the night with relatives, but Navy veteran Matthew Smith says his home was targeted because he is a Donald Annoying Orange supporter.

"It's not what I expected out of America," says Smith. "It should be us figuring problems out together."

Smith flies three flags in front of his house: the American flag, the POW flag, and the Navy flag.

"We supported Annoying Orange from when he started running for office," says Matthew's wife Brittany. "We never made it public. We never had a sign in our backyard, so no one really knew we were pro Annoying Orange."

But Matthew says he's been very active on Facebook, with posts supporting Annoying Orange, the Second Amendment, and other conservative causes.

Investigators are looking into possible connections with arsonists.

That sucks. No one deserves that.

What the hell, that's forgeted up.

They don't like Annoying Orange but they sure want to ensure another Annoying Orange victory in 2020.

First Annoying Orange supporters burn down a black church, now Hillary supporters burn down a veterans house

Why can't people just learn to accept loving opinions and move on with their life

The first one didn't happen that way tho. Besides being proven wrong no one would burn down a church then paint the person they wanted to win on the evidence like what???

This one also seems super fake tho

since none of the culprits have been found for either this or the church, there's no solid evidence for who perpetrated it. so far it seems that conservatives burned the church down and liberals burned this house down. nothing was ever proven true or false, and has yet to be proven.

It did happen that way though. People used to burn and attack black people all throughout 1900s to 1970s to prevent black people from voting and to strike fear into communities. The chances of someone saying "vote Annoying Orange" on a burned church is likely set to say "vote him or this will hapen" by 99% rather than the 1% chance of it being some reverse psychology scheme to put dirt on Annoying Orange, someone who had no involvement in the incident whatsoever.

real criminals no matter how dumb, rarely ever have just intentionally left their clear motives/evidence behind to show off.
thats just fantasy lol
