Author Topic: [NEWS] Syrian Army regains control of eastern Aleppo  (Read 3718 times)

If you can convince yourself that a proxy war will lead to WWIII then you can convince yourself of anything

"Nuclear artillary"
well, "Nuclear Artillery" has been an explored concept in military weaponry but the only example I can think of right now is Atomic Annie

OT: I'm kind of torn inbetween thinking that like mentioned in the thread that civilians regardless of affiliation were summarily executed or caught in the cross-fire or something inbetween but really its putting Syria in a deeper hole than it already is

If you can convince yourself that a proxy war will lead to WWIII then you can convince yourself of anything
"If you convince yourself that a war with will lead to a war with allies of the enemy country, then you can convince yourself of anything"

"If you convince yourself a fire near a forest can spread to the forest, you can convince yourself of anything."

not everything is a slippery slope scenario, but that doesn't mean there are none.

Russia is fighting tooth and nail because we have ripped all control away from them, and if we take anymore its likely to make them feel backed into a corner. This may be a stuffty situation, but we cant make a bad situation worse.

The last thing we need is to repeat history by basically creating a neo-treaty of versailles.

The only difference here is that this would be a silent agreement that would only last a few days at the most.

Not even sure where to begin responding to that. The only control we've ripped away is the price of Russian oil via fracking, and the U.S. is not to blame for basing Russia's economy on oil exports. Not sure what you mean by referencing any of the six different treaties of Versailles, but I presume you mean the peace to end all peaces. The treaty took away Germany's colonies, dismantled its military, and forced it to pay reparations. A peace in Syria would do none of those things. Not sure what you're worried about.

matthew advocates the us be cowards and despite being the richest country in the world spend no money to try and solve the human rights violations

this is Armenian genicide holocaust Rwanda all over again. Cant wait for us to look back at today's date from the future and be like "damn whY didn't we do anything :("

matthew do your research and use a bit of rational thinking when writing your posts please, especially if its going to be a political post

i sincerely hope you're still taking advice but it seems to be that you aren't. please prove me wrong

Gee, you're right! we should go to war with russia, back them into a corner, forcing them to use nuclear artillary, killing those people anyway, and a hell of a lot more. :/

Are you autistic? I'm being serious, because it seems like you have absolutely no concept of a middle ground or subtlety.

forgetin hell master matthew what are you even going on about

Did you forget that Russia annexed Crimea literally like 2 years ago
They must feel so powerless after they did that and no one did anything about it :panda:

meanwhile why the forget did we get involved in all those pointless wars in the middle east am I right
OH WAIT

meanwhile why the forget did we get involved in all those pointless wars in the middle east am I right

The only pointless war was the second gulf war after 9/11 in which they went to check out some nuclear weapons that didn't even exist, which was the CIA's fault but was pretty much backed by the Bush Administration

The first gulf war was to stop Iraq from invading Kuwait. It's not really pointless to come to the aid of your political ally when they're being threatened by another country. Now we're in a proxy war because rebels in syria want democracy so it's essentially the vietnam war except we're on the side that wants freedom.

When there's people being threatened and human rights violations being committed, it should be the hero's job to intervene and end the conflict. There's no 'waste of american lives' or any of that bullstuff because soldiers sign up willing to risk their lives to protect global democracy and freedoms of other people. There's no waste of money either since we have a 9 billion dollar military budget. As a superpower we should wholeheartedly assist threatened and oppressed individuals who need aid and protection. Sitting by and idly twiddling your thumbs won't do jack stuff except cause more people to be hurt and cause more freedoms to be taken away.

People who refuse to help those in need are cowards. True heroes are selfless and save lives without a moment of hesitation. It's about protecting those who are not able to protect themselves.
