I embargoed conversation with him a long time ago, but there's something I've observed in the meantime:
Nobody would willingly make themselves look like an ass, as that's irrational and self-damaging. No sane person receives ridicule and mockery on a daily basis and then habitually repeats the same behaviors that earn them that abuse.
Therefore, the only logical explanation is that Master Matthew is actually someone else, who has infiltrated Matthew's account and posed as him for months. The real Matthew is likely in a basement somewhere in the Bible Belt, hand-cuffed to a radiator and being kept alive on a crude mixture of oatmeal and raw eggs.
