As for the family values, there are religions like christianity that also show these signs, but progressive individuals work hard to fight that stigma and change so that it is more acceptable. There are people in islamic countries who do the same, fighting for womens rights, gay rights, etc. It's an issue that we're trying to fight as well, it doesn't mean that everyone who believes in Islam is homophobic.
