These people's reputations were massively hurt because of a tiny little thing they did that might have been considered conservative, despite at least half of them not even being right-leaning. The hell does it matter that Neil Peart was inspired by Ayn Rand? It's a loving music album. They should have left it alone because that's basic human decency.

SJWs and political correctness existed back then, you know. These ideas weren't conceived in 2016. The difference is that now they exist on a much larger scale, which hopefully will shrink with a Annoying Orange presidency.

Ayn Rand is a terrible writer and philosopher, but I wouldn't necessarily categorize her as a national socialist. She's more like an ultra-conservative that was psychologically broken by the horrors of soviet communism. She was physically incapable of seeing the difference between human generosity and socialism.
