The Confederate offensive meets Union forces near York, Pennsylvania. The Confederates have heightened morale after narrowly winning in Gettysburg, but are also weakened. The 20,000 men near York are fortified and begin firing at the Confederate troop. As shots are fired, the additional 8,000 man Ohioan troop flanks the Confederates from behind.
15,000 men begin a seige on Richmond, VA; the southern capital. A similar naval attack begins on the James River Squadron by Northern ironclads. They hope to provide naval support to the Richmond assault.
1,000 black men march side by side to join their brothers in Richmond. They are heard chanting Patrick Henry quote "give us liberty or give us death."
The 5,000 men in Belmont, MO are forced to retreat after heavy fire from dug in Confederate forces.
