Notice how he didn't quote me. That's because he isn't allowed to respond to me anymore.

I don't quote you because I don't want your filth to be stored multiple times on the forum's server

i would support some kind of widespead southern literacy test.
why just the south? there's plenty of handicaps in all areas of the country. from what ive observed they're most prevalent in the big cities, which are mostly located in the northern and western states (eg. new york, chicago, san francisco, los angeles, houston, philadelphia, san diego, etc). another way to visualize this is to just follow the areas where there is the greatest lack or underperformance of education and literacy, which usually are also the areas with the highest crime rates, which again are the big cities.

test them all.

I'm glad you know your place.

it's logic like this that makes these big cities stuffty - everyone thinks they're filled with handicaps, so nobody wants to help them, then everyone questions why they're filled with handicaps

you misunderstood

except the literacy test zealot proposed is an actual literacy test, simple and easy for anyone to do

nothing remotely like the tribal literacy tests from a century ago that were specifically engineered to stop blacks from voting.

unless you believe zealot meant it as some sort of payback against southerners for something that some people who once lived in the area a hundred+ years ago did. which is stupid because a lot of southerners today probably arent even originally from the south if we're talking that far back. zealot is above such spiteful and ridiculous ambitions.

i mean he made it pretty clear he wanted it to have nothing to do with those tribal "literacy tests"
i would support some kind of widespead southern literacy test. except instead of being tribal it just asks simple political questions like "Who is the Democratic Nominee?" "Who is the Republican Nominee?" "Who is our standing President?" "Ted Cruz is running as a _____________."

We stopped kids under 18 from voting because they are stupid. We should also stop a 45 year old man from voting if he is really stupid.

i think he specifically mentioned the south because he probably believes that southerners are generally less smart than people from other areas of the country. which is fine. i feel the same way about some parts of the north and the west, myself.

the only ones who can fix their image is themselves. they arent filled with handicaps because of some mass opinion that becomes reality. if they are to be filled with handicaps, its generally gonna be because of legitimate factors that negatively influence their average citizen's individual growth, such as rough living conditions, poor education, and high crime rates. all of which big cities have in abundance, and all of which are inseparably linked to each other. people being stupid in a city doesnt happen because people abroad willed that into existence, but because of the individual choices many of the people in those cities make.

OrangeMan is a pretty sloppy troll.

you're still misunderstanding
you said 'why only for the south' or something like that but he was referencing the tribal southern literacy test that i linked and proposed to make it about the election instead of other things

you're still misunderstanding
no, i just don't agree with your interpretation of his post.

i think the only reason he said "southern" is just because the south classically had literacy tests and it was just a historical reference

he loving mentioned the south because the literacy tests originated in the forgetin south

so let me get this straight.

you're saying he brought up having literacy tests for southerners because of the corrupt practicies of people who lived in the south a hundred years ago. in other words, a vengeance motive.

i'm saying zealot brought up literacy tests for southerners because he feels they just aren't that smart, in today's modern age. he mentioned the old literacy tests to clarify that his would be an actual test, not a rigged ploy to stop people of a certain group from voting.

he didn't mention the south because of literacy tests, he was clarifying what he meant by literacy test due to the fact that he was talking about the south.
you've got the cause and effect reversed.

reread my post.

i really don't think it's any deeper than a throwaway historical reference semi-awkwardly plopped in to try and add clarity

you're getting an implied "[for] southerners" here that i'm not seeing, in fact the context added by the rest of the post seems to make it obvious to me that that wasn't the intention
(repost for reference)
