to clarify for Planr, I said 'southern literacy test' in reference to the tribal tests of the south, I meant for it to be applied to the whole country to assure voters had at least a minimal understanding of the politics they would take part in. For the same reason we don't give someone who can't drive a driver's license, we shouldn't let someone who can't vote for what they want vote. I wasn't saying we should be testing the south--especially not as some sort of punishment for slavery--I was saying that we should implement a system like what was seen in the south, except of course, as I said, not tribal. 'Widespread' suggested that it should be taken all over the country.

If we were to abolish the two party system, we would have to abolish parties, which would be very bad.
uh... why?

You don't need more than two parties, you just need parties with not stuff candidates. Plus, 50% of the population winning compared to 25% winning sounds a lot nicer

I'm sorry what

RANKED CHOICE VOTING

Well, with our current failsafe system, with no parties, almost everytime, the vote would go to congress, so we would lose any control over the vote almost every election.

This would be bad, unless this was changed somehow.

I know you jerk off to that thought every night but you need to give it a rest

But wouldn't Congress have no parties too? Plus you're assuming the intentions of people you know nothing about

it is literally the answer to your perceived problem

Considering how I locked the poll results until voting, it looks like somebody was actually autistic enough rig the poll. Further proof that the mentally disabled should not be allowed in a democratic society.
