Why is it society's fault if you're a huge bitch who can't handle the real world? Why is it my responsibility to take what I've earned and give it to weak, useless people? Except that's assuming the people are looking it up because it looks like underaged girls. It's not child enthusiasm if the girl is drawn and looks way older than she is. A lot of art (esp fictional characters) look far older than they are and a lot of weird anime characters might look 6 but actually be 45 or 901. In fiction, age =/= body and that's what people are primarily attracted to. Anyone can assign any age to any body since it's art. Would it be creepphilic to be attracted to an actor playing an underaged character? What about an appropriately aged character with an underaged actor?

Is the person being depicted a child? If so, it is child enthusiasm. It's research meant for people who are attracted to children. child enthusiasts.
Is fictional child research less harmful? Sure. However, it is still child enthusiasm because at its root, it is research that depicts a child.

The only meaningful exceptions I can think of it is if the character is intentionally aged forward or if the age is particularly ambiguous.
