I've been thinking about making this a "Unix General" thread, as some people use MacOS and BSD distributions. Should I?
Wouldn't be a bad idea.

holy stuff this is so annoying but at least i dont have to deal with amd drivers

so I had to fiddle with this OsxAptios2Drv-free2000 driver but it's reached a login screen so high hopes !!
I got Clover working with OVMF so woo

hello fellow humans it is time i bump this thread back into existence

fish + omf and zsh + omz are the best shells tbh

so I started building my own OS from scratch (it's never gonna be good this is for learning)

so what kind of wacky features would be sick?

i'm only at the bootloader rn

Make it mostly built around running in a virtual machine environment. That would be very useful.

Ooh, and maybe base it on Java and market it towards smartphones. There's no way this idea can possibly backfire in the future.

Hey now, telling everybody that Obj-C is the future, then abandoning their standpoint on that and switching it to Swift isn't much better

what are the benefits of linux over windows
