Halo's high point was between 3 and reach, then it began its perpetual death. I thoroughly believe that Halo has exhausted its very existence to the point where the gameplay and campaign was so good it set its own standard too high. Anything else would just be a clone or worse.

Call of duty did a similar dance where it published some of its best titles between 2007 and 2010 and then took a downward spiral. Once you nail the recipe for a great game, all you can do is go downhill.

personally ive always hated halo (besides the first one or whatever with the zombie aliens that stuff was dope), and ive never owned any besides the first one (cortana was mad thicc too). the story is p bland and the gameplay was dry imo too. it was for sure a fun splitscreen game, def one of my fav games to play with friends when i was younger, but they seem to just have progressively gotten worse.

they should just remaster the first one
Have you even touched any of the games other than the first one?  I honestly doubt you hated every single one you played but enjoyed the first one, just doesn't make much sense that'd you'd like Halo 1 but dislike Halo 3.

they should just remaster the first one
They did. Twice. The also keep patching the first one's PC port.

The "zombie aliens" (Flood) have appeared in Halo CE, Halo 2 and Halo 3. Bungie also made Halo 3: ODST and Halo: Reach. Halo 3 is the best, but Halo: Reach definitely had some wonderful refinements in it. Halo CE is the worst of the lot, just because of how outdated the gameplay is, and your post proves you've got no idea what you're on about.

For its time, Halo CE was amazing and saying it's the worst title in the series isn't saying much, considering that all four of those titles are really great games. ODST was a bit lacking and felt more like a standalone DLC, and wars was just a mess.

Duh.

But my point was not to compare the later games by saying the first is the best, when it's objectively become outdated (thanks to the amount of love and care put into each new addition).

My personal favourite is Halo 2, but it's very close. I love H3's Forge and Theatre, but the story and the nostalgia I have for 2 go back a tiny bit further.

i didnt even try after reach. i lost interest in halo 4 when master chief burst out of the cryo chamber in completely new armor. was there an explanation for that? i watched all the cutscenes and not a single one explained the armor change (that i remember). it sounds like halo 5 is about as much of a joke as i assumed it was so yeah forget that

personally halo 2 and halo 3 were the best halos imo. halo 2s campaign was one of the last games i played with my brother, and halo 3 had the best xbox live experience to date. nothing will ever come close to the amazing times that was xbox live during the 2007-09 era

was there an explanation for that? i watched all the cutscenes and not a single one explained the armor change (that i remember)
Cortana, during the first minute of gameplay, mentions having spent some time "making upgrades", to which Chief replies " you were busy. "

But yeah, total bullstuff and it doesn't even look that good.

I don't play that often, unfortunately

I'm not fond of 343's Halos, but i will say that Halo 5 is an improvement over 4 and i hope that 343 will be able to redeem themselves with Halo 6

Apparently there's a whale helmet you can earn if you play 343 custom games or something

Good posts McJob, I was a huge fan of the Halo canon until 4. For 1-3 it really felt epic how humanity was on the brink of annihilation from a 30 year war, the universe was very detailed, it was just so damn good. But now humanity is making a ridiculous bounce back solely because of forerunner tech, which feels like a cop out, and chief is taking on literal god beings, which is cool I guess but not that interesting plot-wise. Microsoft really went in the wrong direction.

By the way, a Youtube user by the name of The Act Man made a 6 video series about why Halo 5's campaign is bad

His other Halo related videos are pretty worth checking out too

I bought halo 4 and played through the campaign, which was pretty bad, and then played the multiplayer for like a few hours max. I didn't care for it at all
343 sucks

halo reach was pretty great though and also the first three games. I liked ODST's campaign for its atmosphere but what little multiplayer there was, was kind of lacking

I hated Halo 4's shaders for the multiplayer spartans, the armor looked so dull and the visors were hardly reflective, so they looked like they only had a diffuse texture with a normal map applied

In Halo 5, the armor and visor are shiny, more visibly reflective, the armor has wear and tear to it, and the visors have that neat hexagonal pattern to them

Also, Halo 5 doesn't like it when you've lowered your weapon and crouched down with some weapons

Animation bugs like that are so low-priority (since they're not even game mandatory), they're usually marked as "WON'T FIX" or "BY DESIGN" in the tracker.

At least they're amusing, so i'm totally okay with that

I just noticed something. In your photo. Something that's bugging me loving badly.

You forgetin seeing what I'm seeing?

A FLOATING GUN. IN THE FRANCHISE THAT WAS FIRST TO NOT HAVE FLOATING GUNS.

WHAT THE forget.
