You may remember this fantastic topic from a while back where my room got forgeted up because of a coke stash. It happened again.
For the past couple of days, there's been a very long chain of ants waltzing into my room. It was absurd, but I had no idea what they were looking for. They were everywhere in the room, but I had just cleaned it all out and removed every trace of food I knew about...or had I?
I had kept a cache of very rare, special Coke cans that an ex-coworker of my Mum had owned. What I had been
told was that the cans had been emptied and filled with water to keep them standing (and clean them out so they wouldn't smell). This was not the truth.
My hypothesis on what happened, and why they only busted now (after 20+ years of being fine for some of these cans) is that up until now, they hadn't really been shocked or jolted. It wasn't until I finally needed to move them while cleaning out my room (I moved the entire closet the drawer was held in) they they shook up and probably exploded.
The result?
Even worse, while its not visible, that puddle of coke was lined with the bodies of dead ants who had become too greedy at the mass Sugar Harvest.
Cleaning this out took forever...quite a few pairs of gloves and a high pressure water hose were required. Just to top this embarrassment off, while I was cleaning it, people inside the house LOCKED ME OUT, so I had to fight my way through the spider infested side alley (a very thin pathway with lots of spider-webs and big spider forgeters) to get back inside so I could wash off.
Being late to work sucks :(
