Igor spots some fruit up in a tree and starts hacking away at it like a maniac.

Gus growls, furrowing his brows as he furiously cleans himself off as much filth as he can. Gus continues inland along the river, hoping to find a more suitable spot for settling down, away from the stink monkeys.
Gus continues, noticing many interesting animals and plants along the way.

Along his journey, he discovers the following animals:

« Gusamius has discovered the Doburu, Sabya, Palocini, Lyuciad, Taata , S'awe, Xilite, Magalog and Urgyuthan »

And the following fruits, berries, vegetables, and vegetation:

« Gusamius has discovered the Sallizan Fruit, Guatha Fruit, Vandini Berry, Wewad Gourd, Wild Fewan Grass, Soumoran Fern, and the Pylius Bush »

The Urgyuthan and the Sabya seem threatening to him, and one of the Urgyuthans charge him in attempt to overtake him, but is unsuccessful in its endeavor.

However, on his journey up to the source of the river, he determines that there are three good spots to settle down.

A affords easy access to the shipwreck and easy access to game, but may be open to attack from predators or who knows what else.
B affords best supply of fruits, berries and nuts, and good supply of fish, but is nearby to several Barbosett clans.  Is also nearby to Sabya and Urgyuthan nests.
C affords good hunting grounds, decent fishing, and is within view of some highlands, but is not very well-hidden.

Igor receives many Geor fruits.

Volgya's stick lights up in flame rather quickly, and begins to burn away.  The utabol begin to growl.  Aǹni readies herself.

Volgya swings the flaming stick at the Utabol, hoping to scare them away.

Gus grunts, continuing along and surveying over each of the spots before he eventually makes the decision to settle down down at spot C, figuring that he'd rather make himself a bit obvious so long as he's out of the way of immediate danger. Once he arrives, grabs some sticks on the way to create a makeshift tent out from his sailcloth, and settles his other belongings down. There's a moment of simply looking around at his surroundings before beginning to properly head out in his surroundings to see what he might have nearby his campsite for resources.

The utabol recoil, trying to stay away from the fire.  They remain barking and growling for a few minutes.  One of them snaps at Volgya in attempt to get at him.

It seems that wood is rather sparse, but there is a forest nearby.  There is also a range of mountains nearby as well.

Volgya waves the stick at the same Utabol that snaps at him, perhaps attacking it if it is close enough after snapping.

The utabol whimpers leaps back as a shower of sparks and cinders are hurled at it, causing part of its hair to be singed off.  The others back off, whimpering, lowering their tails and fleeing into the forest.

Aǹni exhales.  "Praise Äauz..."

"You see?  They fear the fire, they will not return if they see it.  Simply have to assert ourselves."

"Aye," Aǹni says.  "Now then.  We need to move inland and find some water.  Any of that pig we can salvage?"

"Don't think so.  Looks like decayers have already got to it.  We will leave."

"Very well.  I don't think the sled will last through the forest.  Perhaps we can scrap it for parts," she says, looking it over.  "At the very least, it would be useful to haul the box with us."

Aǹni stops and looks over to the pig.  "Y'know what would be great?"  She walks on over to the pig and takes ahold of one of the tusks, and starts hacking away at the base of it with the axe.

"Trophies" she says, pausing to smile back at Volgya.

Gus grunts, raising his arms overhead and stretching. Gus moves over to go find a nice rock suitable for the head of an adze or axe head. He also keeps his eyes out for suitable spear and handle sticks to collect.

Volgya nodded, smiling, "Yes, and fresh water," he said, dampening the mood almost immediately.
