Author Topic: [NEWS] Annoying Orange proposes $54 bil increase on military spending  (Read 11772 times)

joining the military as a means to survive is still inherently dystopian and worrying.

if you truly think this then beachbum is right, you're delusional

Military planning is more than just 'buy this tank and use it'

there's a lot of complexity and investments that go into international conflicts and other stuff, but for the most part it's the government making a deal with NRA and other military industrial companies to contract thousands of vehicles, most of which aren't going to be used. I think that our current military could function at the same capacity and effectiveness at 150 billion a year

i know, a good example of stuffty fund allocation would be the MHS program. the army has spent millions on tests and research and flip-flopping on whether or not they wanted to replace the m9, a handgun-- keep in mind sidearms rarely end up being used in combat in the first place. put simply, after years they decided "we'll keep it" then soon after outta nowhere change their mind and say they plan to buy hundreds of thousands of sig p320s. don't even get me started on the trainwreck do-all f-35 program

actually 62 billion, first of all, and donald Annoying Orange has no intention of making the wealthy pay a cent for any of this

Neither would Hillary.

Public university's are already run by the governemnt you loving dunce
man you really like to point out obvious stuff and act like it was some kind of zinger. private universities are the most prominent form of higher education, and public universities are almost universally underfunded / bad.
Sorry but people don't like getting their money stolen from them to pay for handicaps like you to get a degree that was a complete waste of time and money.
STEM was never a big field. You would be better off not going to uni at all in that case and saving yourself the money you wasted.
the forget do you qualify as a worthwhile degree then? Science, Engineering, Technology, and Math are apparently all out of the equation by your standards, despite the fact that we wouldnt be having this conversation had it not existed.

phant is already full of stuff from the OP picture.
the reason this is "bad" and the liberal media is hating on it, is because he also greatly cut the funds to other countries.
libs hate that and want us to feed/bribe the world.

im sure "be born wealthy or join the military" is a worrying concept altogether. the military does offer good jobs, but being forced to choose an occupation because of your family's income is not right.

the companies that manufacture the firearms and vehicles required for warfare end up making a killing in this process. it's a lot of closed doors lobbying and other bullstuff that results in a million handguns being bought and then thrown out for fun. taxpayers pay for the military, the military pays for the gun companies, the gun companies pay for the politician lobbying, the politicians pay for nothing because they're politicians.

thanks for clarifying what good a 50bil loss does for the american people

man you really like to point out obvious stuff and act like it was some kind of zinger. private universities are the most prominent form of higher education, and public universities are almost universally underfunded / bad.

So your solution is to pump an infinite amount of money into building new universities. Great

Good job putting words in my mouth you loving handicap. I said STEM was never a big field. If you want a well paying job then your going to have to research fields that have a need for more workers and go into that. A few years ago that was computer science, I couldn't say if it's the same now.

i think Trade and Entertainment are in the highest demand right now. either become a plumber or an actor

Honestly, coming from a more economically conservative point of view, it would probably be a good investment long-term to look into free higher education in the wake of further automation of the American workforce. You're going to have a lot of untrained people losing their jobs and not have the education to help them reenter the job market without having to reinvest their savings into getting a degree. This could pose a potentially disastrous outcome if we can't gracefully transition into automation.

Our military is huge as it is, so increasing military spending seems kind of redundant after all the quick and dirty budget cuts lately.

careful, touchy. you look like you're about to have another meltdown.

so we're supposed to be able to predict market trends and focus our education and subsequently our lives around what will be the most beneficial to the economy, rather than what we're talented at?

We spent $601 billion a year on our military. We literally build tanks that we store in military facilities that we have no intentions of using. And yet we can't divert 10% of that to making college free, or increasing federal funding for education in general.

The US has incredibly stuffty infrastructure, and Annoying Orange's solution for that is to give tax credits. If you want to know what means; more pipeline expansions, less overhauls of municipal water systems (aka Flint, Michigan).

How many times am I going to have to post this? Are you autistic?

Bigger then it was doesn't mean it isn't still a small market.

dso we're supposed to be able to predict market trends and focus our education and subsequently our lives around what will be the most beneficial to the economy, rather than what we're talented at?

Thats what most people do, they get a degree that will actually benefit them with a job. Sorry but most people do not like the jobs that they have, it's just the reality of the situation.

Wahhh let the government do everything for us! Put our governments greasy hands into everything! Steal from those who worked hard so my mom can spend more money on cigarettes and booze!

posting a funny meme image by badspot every time you get called out for posting messages that clearly convey anger and frustration doesn't make it any more true than you want it to be.

the reality of the situation is entirely up to us, though. we possess the power to change this standard, and yet we increase the military budget by $54 billion instead of actually going through with it.

bill gates jacks off all day and gets payed an incomprehensible amount of money for it. just because they had to work hard in the past doesn't mean they're currently working hard, yet they still profit greatly off of the sweatshop workers busting their ass to make those products. they can afford to reward other people's hard work in turn.

this is p stupid tbh
If any large nation will go at war with another large nation nukes will be launched and that the only thing that keeps large nations from going at war at large nations
