The computer has never loving updated their software stuff. It has been dated since the start.
The difference is you are loving jailbreaking a machine that wasn't meant for homebrew.
a OEM windows computer wasn't meant to run linux, but people install it anyways
just because the console wasn't meant to do something, doesn't mean you shouldn't (again, unless it's piracy)
Consoles have these anti jailbreaking software.
It wouldn't be there if they were cool with you jailbreaking their stuff in the first place.

also, people find workarounds, and if they don't people go back to older versions by either buying a new system or downgrading
i mean look at the 3ds, that thing has been shaken down to the bones for bugs, and we've got all the hacks we could want
homebrew communities don't stop when it comes to hacks and exploits. they just keep looking.
