kinda surprised he hasn't gotten banned for flaming though
In the past, I've been banned twice for flaming (one was an account perma), and I got one account banned for a dismissive post in the NickPB drama.
What's the difference between then and now? Back then, I was a loving idiot. If I didn't like someone or something, I'd call it out straight as it is. A one-liner usually to the effect of "Go forget yourself cunt" or "Off yourself". That kind of stuff is a BIG no-no, and I rightfully got it.
It took a while before I grew up and realised that the appropriate way to handle disliking someone or something is not to just blow up like a bomb. You have to explain it. You have to justify the anger and you have to actually contribute something useful to the debate. Yeah, the meaning is the same (I think that person is a cunt), but it's nowadays less rude and more constructive. Some people have become the better for it. I like to think that my Reason You Suck speeches are a nice mix of humour and actual serious points so that every audience member gets something they want.
Notice how Tony continues to stuff on me for how I was imitating him? It's amazing how he's happy to act exactly as I did, yet when somebody points it out to him in a way that actually affects him, he can't hack it and spends forever decrying the behaviour.
I hate the fact that people try and say "We know he's a troll, just ignore him." As I said before; it'd be like if a streaker ran through a busy shopping mall, and security got angry at the people who reported it rather than the streaker himself simply because they've lost all their balls to actually deal with the problem. It's rather sad, actually.
