Author Topic: Would You Rather: PC gaming or Console gaming?  (Read 3752 times)

PC is objectively better but consoles have more players by definition of being normie machines and thus if you have normie friends they are more likely to have a PS4/Xbox One so you'd probably want to get one of those to keep in the loop or something.

I like PC gaming for the very wide range of hardware you can plug into and use with. Very flexible, but expensive. I like console gaming for its low cost; a console won't be unable to run new games in a few years, where that may be different for a PC.

Consoles for casuals. PC for people who are more into gaming

Although I feel consoles are getting more and more irrelevant.

You're joking, right?

Casual as in more people who occasionally play CoD or FIFA or whatnot with their buddies. Not mobile phone candy crush tier. Guess I should have phrased it better

PC gaming is becoming easier and easier to get into, and cheaper as well. Whereas newer consoles like the PS4 and Xbone require you to install games before you can play them and less and less games are splitscreen. The advantages of using a console over PC are shrinking.

Also I am not talking about mobile or portable consoles like the Switch or 3DS

This is the bit I'm most interested in. What constitutes someone who is more than "casual"? What games do they play?

I mean more time spent playing games rather then the games itself specifically. I just used those as examples so you could understand the type of people I'm talking about. People who sort of play games as a side hobby but it's certainly not their main form of entertainment and enjoyment.

there are people who spend time playing their console just as much as someone spends time at a PC

But thats not what my originally post was about. My post was stating that if your not mainly into games but you still like to play occasionally then consoles are better for you, but if it's your main hobby that you are really interested in then PC is more your style.

While console gaming has its positives and negatives,
I can see how delightful it can be to be a PC Gamer.

one of your other posts answered my "why" so nevermind, but I still believe its subjective on one's interests and playstyle to choose what they want play on, someone interested in consoles is going to be a bit more extroverted since they can call their friends over to play splitscreen. or they just prefer to play on a couch than at a desk

You can pretty much do the same with a computer when it comes to playing on a couch but I see what you mean. It sucks that less and less games are splitscreen though

I'd prefer PC on the sole fact that most of the newer consoles force you to pay a subscription to do multiplayer stuff.
