Author Topic: a thought on vegetarianism  (Read 12190 times)

You'll hopefully stop eating meat because eventually you'll begin to see how hierarchal world views in which some lives matter more than others are inherently cancerous to peaceful societies. Or perhaps because people smarter than you will, and you'll tag along because it's cultural and you just want to be cool.

Think about it this way: More animals will be slaughtered today than every single person who died during WW2. When you learn how animals aren't that different than us, you'll see how tragic that is.
I'm not sure what he expected. He asked what the solution to animal deaths was--and I told him to stop supporting the slaughter of animals. It's not ridiculous.

Humans share more than 60% of their DNA with chickens, and more than 80% with cows. Something so similar to you surely has some value in it's life?

Veganism is linked with the SJW disease.

Sure they have value. For a chicken it's about $1.50 a pound

The reason why so many people dislike vegans / vegetarians, they ALWAYS take the moral high ground by going "a-at least I value their lives!!"

Why do you care so much about some farm animals that are thousands of miles away from you lol

well the value is mostly in being food. they don't provide anything else to us

You could mock abolitionists for their bleeding hearts too. Why do you care about the plight of the Bro? It doesn't affect you!

Master Mathew also doesn't contribute anything to us. I still wouldn't want him to die.

So he can feel morally superior to everyone else. Meanwhile he probably wont shed a tear for all the plants that die so he can stuff his face with them.

but we're not just talking about dying for the sake of dying, they die so that we can eat them

That wasn't a strawman--it was an brown townogy.

Trying to stop something you consider morally reprehensible is widely considered the ethical thing to do across just about every culture. The different between plants and animals is that plants don't have a nervous system or a brain, effectively rendering their lives as voids. Without the ability to feel any pain or other sensation nor make any conscious decision through brainpower, we can assert that plants don't hold value on the same stage as other living species. However, all life has value, and I would also object to needless deforestation or the killing of plants simply for the 'fun' of it. We couldn't survive without plants--but meat is simply a luxury.

Yea, uh... you don't actually know what a strawman is. I'd take the time to explain it but I've actually gotta go just now. Feel free to bitch and I'll get back to it in a few hours.
