Author Topic: the influence of games on you  (Read 3757 times)

jet set radio made me want to rollerblade after a long time of not doing it. now i am and i'm rapidly improving

have games had any influence on you?

I played games like gears of war and halo: ce to name a few as a kid and instead of making me a psychotic murderer it actually helped improve my strategical thinking skills and my vocabulary.

Of course, learning every curse word before you leave first grade gives you a big bonus over everyone else.

runescape made me type faster

Hatred made me want to cut myself with Spongebob fridge magnets

I learned to type from playing PC games. Spore partly decided my college major. Halo helped to get me hooked on science fiction.

tony hawk games made me want to conduct satanic cult rituals

blockland made my heart shrink three sizes

i should really get that checked out

Halo 2 got me into violent, gory, and shooter games, though Rooster Teeth's Red vs. Blue got me into Halo overall

Halo in general got me into glitching and exploring video games

Blockland got me into modelling, scripting, and texturing, it's community made me into a better person and i made lots of friends and acquaintances

Garry's Mod got me into more detailed modelling, texturing, and working with materials

Anything i've done in games i've not wanted to imitate in real life, so i've got nothing to say along those lines...

Touhou helped me improve typing skills.
RPGs helps with math.
Persona made me love japanese game and got me into VG music.
but these are just as of recent

The rollercoaster tycoon helped with Management skills.

Roblox was pretty much the first online game I ever played
Blockland was the first game I actually to talked people online
Minecraft was the first I played that had mods in it and helped me get better at looking into computer files in such (because minecraft modding for me back then was kind of hard and with going into things like Appdata and stuff like that)
Pokemon Heartgold got me into Rpgs. (final fantasy 7 extended that)
Half life 1 & 2 got me into FPS games
Halo 3 and GTA 4 was the first game I played that had swear word in it.
Lego Island got me into openworld games.
Lego Racers was the first thing I ever modded and was one of my first games I played.

also games in general can make you discussion them with people.
