I dunno, I think the anonymity makes people more prone to be standoffish. EVERYONE I've talked to one-on-one from this forum turned out pretty alright. I don't think the nature of the forum has anything to do with it, considering how lax this forum is in the first place.
That's not because people are actually good individuals because you talked to them in private and they seemed decent. Everyone adapts depending on the social circumstance. Very few people are going to go out of their way to antagonize you if you are talking to them one on one because what's really the point? There's no audience.
Not saying nix or anyone is a bad guy but a good 90% of forumers will probably try to act mature and kind if they are talking one on one.
That's what irks me about some people, they'd rather play these 'characters' than to be the actually tolerable and mature person that they probably are IRL
Why bother with the charades? You're on a public message board with real people, why would you choose to spend your time playing this toxic character that just sparks negative reactions and emotions just for some quick laughs? Are you really a respectable person if this is how you spend your free time? I just can't understand these things
I think alot of people treat this like twitter where they take their sincere opinions and distort them into extremist views when they actually talk about them. Whether it's on politics or their dislike of certain individuals.
