cooler idea for a ww2 game: war in africa
eat the enemy leaders heart

i swear to forget if they forget to add in the d-day battle
ah yes let's do another normandy landing for the millionth time

of course they're going to add in 'the d-day battle' because it's in every other goddamn ww2 game where you play as a us soldier. there's so much more to WW2 (and other wars at the time) than just normandy, stalingrad and africa, but those parts are usually brushed off in favor for the more larger & famous battle because really what's a ww2 game without those in the first place? it's just another mid/late 1944-1945 normandy game that's probably gonna be like the hundreds of others, just now with XTreme Graphics. we're probably never gonna get anything more than an american/british/soviet campaign, except for maybe a walk-through shock mission about the holocaust.

we'll probably never see anything more than normandy and MAYBE italy, and if other campaigns other than american are included, we probably won't see more than stalingrad and maybe something to do with poland. no fighting in hungary, no continuation war campaign, nothing that we haven't already seen. it's probably gonna be riddled with cinematic first-person quick time events too.

on the positive side it's kind of neat to be seeing a ww2 game being released today i guess, but i think i'm just gonna stick to red orchestra 2/rising storm for ww2 first person shooter needs

I want them to throw a curveball and have aliens and some BS conspiracy theory.

So... you want the game to be bad?

seriously, why on earth is anybody at all excited about another WWII game. there can be no innovation. there are no original ideas, there is nothing that hasn't already been covered. pretty much every front of the entire war has been covered multiple times. weapon customization will be at a minimum because there weren't loving tactical rails back then. player customization probably won't exist, because of how many countries we could be playing as. the campaign would have to be complete fiction to be anything even remotely novel at this point. all the environments will be dull, brown and grey warzones or deserts because it takes place in loving world war 2. and to top it all off, Treyarch isn't making it.

I've never actually seen a game where you play as the KMT fighting the Japanese in China. And you rarely see games where you fight the Italians.

forget that. The third act of the game should be Operation Unthinkable.

-snip-
"the game is bad because they included core historical elements from ww2"

would you rather them include battles that literally no one knows about due to the said battles being extremely minimal, short, and influence literally nothing

why are they boiling down the beginning line of games into one bland boring snore-fest

even just looking at footage of CoD 2 & 3 it looks way better and way more interesting than anything they've put out in the last five years

I still think this new CoD would be entirely redeemable if operation unthinkable happens in the third act. In case you don't know what that is it was a plan for the allies to attack the Soviet Union and rallying the remaining German soldiers in Germany.

Sounds like it could be cool, but I doubt SH will do it because people would complain about historical accuracy or something lol

I mean sure but it would be a great springboard to making a new storyline for CoD that wouldn't have to rely on historical accuracy.

this so much

also a massive excuse to rewrite the cold war to a lot more hot war

an operation unthinkable campaign would actually be a pretty neat idea

I mean it would make alot more sense then MW3's campaign of Russia invading all of europe and the USA at once.

I wanna play Stalingrad goddammit.

Did someone say national socialist zombies? Like no more of this weird tentacle crap?
