Author Topic: Is it possible to...  (Read 4349 times)

Make a player walk around in a vehicle rather than just sitting? I was just wondering about this for a plane or something of the sort.

Conventionaly: no
Through laggy and complicated script: yes

There was a discussion on GarageGames 'bout this. Here's what they came up with: (They guy wanted them on a submarine)
The vehicle would have to actually be an interior, with the illusion of movement/dragging the interior along if I remember right? So with the illusion of movement, everyone would hafta be on the vehicle. Dragging the interior along would fail...

And there was more to it than that, but I really don't wanna look it up.

So, in other words, no?

Basically, although what Im planning for the Hogwarts train is a bit like what laremere said but with less interior and much less hax..

Yes it is possible! I could do it easy!

lol.....go for it then........and fail miserably....

Furdle, explain how you would do it, considering the following:
Couldnt be done with a vehicle
(vehicles dont have complex collision)
Could be done with a static shape( I believe) but wouldnt move(unless it was TERRIBLY glitchy)
Could be done with a shape(I believe) but would be terribly laggy and/or glitchy, not to mention impossible for a person of your coding skill(0)
Could be done with an interior but wouldnt move(unless you want to really get some lag actions, or make the things around it move)

All of the possible methods would be more than just changing values-- some serious coding effort would be needed. Think JVS Elevators in terms of coding effort. it took(is taking) 3 or possibly/probably more months from an experienced coder.

notice:I may have some of the above things wrong, if I do, dont flip out at me, kthx.

Do it NOW.!

I bet you couldn't even tie your own shoes without help.

How do you plan to make something that the people at Garage Games have a problem with?
