FreeSO is a remake of The Sims Online. It's completely legal and free. You can visit lots, or build your own lot!
 Make it whatever you want, like a casino or a jam factory! There's all new careers too! Work at the Robot Factory and try to help your coworkers build robots! Work at the diner if you please and serve the hungry Sims! Ever get lonely?
 You can add Sims as roommates! And there's some new features, too! Play with brand new objects! Stare at the epic lightning! Speak English! The choice is yours.

from what i can remember freeSO is pretty legit. iirc you still need the original sims, since it's just a server re-implementation

My cousin gave me a disc of it but it would never run on my old Windows 7 computer, it would change the look of the os and not even run, I even managed to break the computer trying to run it.

Useless story aside I signed up but I haven't gotten the email yet.
