This is certainly interesting and I would love for this to happen, but as many have pointed out there are 2 many roadblocks in the way that we would have to get around.
The point I want to get bring up (apologize if it already has been) is how would we grow the player base?

im sure this has already been shot down, but is badspot even willing to do a collab of some sort? maybe make this community edition thing a free dlc on steam, or just remake the whole game and ask badspot to release it under the original "blockland" title onto steam and his webpage, while allowing him to still earn the money? ik badspot has abandoned the game, and hardly makes any money from it, so it'd be beneficial to both sides.

this would still divide the playerbase, but it'd make it a whole lot easier to install.
