If you get embarrassed over uploading a bad addon

If an add-on is so bad you get ambarrassed about it, it should never be uploaded in the first place. Pretty simple quality standard.

The download button for the client doesn't work even though the changelog says it does.

I will upload the client to BLIVE itself.  I can't get it to work elsewhere.

I know everyone's saying another hosting service is good, but I don't get it. I have literally no reason to use this in conjunction or instead of BLG, as I am not insecure enough to require more than two storages for my addons (Dropbox and BLG).

The anonymity feature in this case seems pointless. If you made your addon, then it should darn well show you did. You don't intend to spam crappy addons with an anonymous identity to then change it and spam again, do you?

Why not just make it so you HAVE to register an account to post an add-on, but given an option to stay anonymous to everyone while the administrator (you) can still see who actually posted the add-on? This would make it easier on you and everyone else.

Why is that poll a thing? Just implement it and use my stuff above, make it so only administrators can see the IP and be capable of making it ban on sight (even though people can change IPs, but you can do a whois and have an idea of who it might be if they changed their IP)

I also dislike that the client is forcing a keybind that someone might be using. I actually have X binded to something but it'll be overwritten by that add-on. Take a look at my rebind console add-on, it uses global action map while still being in the controls menu to change.

Yeah, that's why I asked for a way to get two keys as a keybind akin to Glass's ctrl-space.  It's *really* annoying having it on X.

I made that poll before you suggested having an account but being able to make yourself anonymous.  I didn't think of that idea.

BLG already offers addon hosting.  It also offers even more: social networking, user accounts, and even dedicated server hosting.  The appeal  for my service over BLG is that you can post anonymously (no account hassles), you can make requests directly on the site, there's a working FAQ, the site is really fast and works pretty much on any screen you throw at it, and I literally post important changes/bugfixes/updates on the Index for anyone to look at.  Also, every addon gets its own exclusive page that you can format how you want with Markdown.  I also can update BLIVE really quickly because I don't have to maintain a huge Blockland client, Node/Socket.io live server, a dedicated server client, and the site.  Just the site, database, and the client.

If anything, the only reason you should use my service over BLG is just for the features I offer that BLG doesn't.  I made this as an alternative to BLG for those who want it and because I personally don't really like it all that much, so I'd rather make my own ideal version.  I also maintain this as a hobby and I think it's fun.

Anyone malicious enough to warrant an IP ban will know how to bypass it.

Accounts are barely a hassle. In fact, they're a convenience. I get all my stuff in once place to manage.

Well, it better be. If I'm going to be digging through unfiltered garbage I expect the speed to compensate for it.

I don't really see a need for this. I do not have any need to download add-ons to my phone, tablet, PSP, etc. Nor will I ever have add-ons stored on those to upload. Any other site works fine with a PC monitor.

I also maintain this as a hobby and I think it's fun.
