Where is this liberal party doing these things
this is the fault on all accounts here. extremism never enters the mainstream political conversation with its power level on full display from the start because it knows that the current culture considers it extreme. extremist groups get into power (edit: through non-revolutionary means) by slowly shifting the overton window in their favor, dropping suggestions and hints that seem innocuous to the more moderate individual and building up to something more grandiose over time. by that point of course we wouldn't be calling it extremism though because it'll just be a normal acceptable idea. no national socialist or far-left extremist with a brain in their head is going to go on public airwaves and talk about, in a straightforward way, cleansing and silencing opposition, proudly waving the national socialist/communist label around like a badge, even if it's what they really desire, because they know the public isn't going to seriously accept those ideas, and there are negative associations with whatever labels could be used to describe those ideas.
but yes, one thing that tends to happen with authoritarian politics is censorship. either through direct silencing (assassinating activist 'enemies of the state,' persecuting individuals who suggest ideas contrary to the state's agenda, etc.) or through social pressuring (casting negative light on groups, news organizations, ideologies etc. to inspire hatred and contempt against them). it's a pretty effective way to shift the political cycle in your favor as it turns out.
all that being said i'm definitely not arguing here that that is definitely happening right now, i'm just sayin that people probably shouldn't be so sure that extreme ideas will definitely never actually come into the playing field. we're talking about these ideas right now all over the world, that's probably a good indication that something is going on
