Hello fellow Motorstormers and welcome to the Motorstorm Megathread Motorstorm is a racing game series created by Evolution studios for the PS3 It's first game In the series Motorstorm (Also known as Motorstorm: Monument Valley) was a launch title for the PS3 released on March 6 2007 in NA.
Motorstorm Monument Vally: Motorstorm Monument Vally is the First game in the series released in NA on March 6 2007 the game has got the Guinesss World Record for the most vehicle classes in a racing game. The objective of the game is to win off-road races to be the winner of the Motorstorm Festival, Motorstorm has real-time track deformation and crashes and has a unique boosting system where your car explodes if you over-do your boost.
Motorstorm Pacific Rift: Motorstorm: Pacific Rift is the second game in the Motorstorm series released on the PS3 on October 28 2008. The game takes place in the Pacific Island and introduces new things like monster trucks,boost strategies Like water cooling down your engine and fire heating your engine. and 4 player split-screen.
Motorstorm Arctic Edge: Arctic Edge (Also known as Raging Ice in japan) is the third game in the series and the first Motorstorm game not created by Evolution studios and not made for the PS3 It was instead made for the PS2 and PSP and created by BigBig studios with the PS2 version and Virtuos with the PSP version and was released in September 29th 2009 in NA. This game also introduced two vehicle classes that are exclusive to Arctic Edge Snow cats and Snowmobiles and the first game to introduce vehicle customization
Motorstorm Apocalypse: Motorstorm Apocalypse was the fourth game in the series and was released in NA on May 3rd 2011 also the Japanese version was cancelled because of the Tohoku earthquake. unlike the previous games Apocalypse takes place in a urban setting instead of an off road nature setting and is more story driven. This game introduced a bunch of new classes including Choppers,Superbikes,Supercars,Superminis and muscle cars they also have the return of the customization feature from Arctic Edge. The game had mixed opinions by fans some not liking the new classes and location, Apocalypse has become the worst selling game in the series with only 200,000 units sold due to the cut short marketing and the tohoku earthquake this caused game director Matt Southern to fear the future of Evolution.
Motorstorm RC:
Motorstorm RC is the fifth and last game in the Motorstorm series before Evolution moving on to make Driveclub and the Second last game by Evolution before they got shut down by Sony it's also the first game to be released on the Vita. Originally a lunch time side project to test out RC cars on there engine Featuring 16 tracks from the previous games and featured an gamemode called the Playground. This game does not have damage physics,boost and bikes this is also the first time a licensed car appeared in a Motorstorm game with the Scion IQ.
