they're all trying to bring attention to some stupid blm cause like america oppressing black people or whatever, which gets extra funny when you realize obama was still president when the whole fad started.
obama's presidency didn't stop unarmed black citizens being denied their liberties.
anyways, the fact of the matter is that they knelt. the reasoning and cause behind it could have been completely different and it wouldnt matter because they still knelt. they knelt for a reason.
i know you havent really been arguing these next two points but i just wanted to get it out: i see people bringing up dead soldiers to try and add value to their argument that it's disrespectful to the military but I have not seen one soldier so far that is disrespected by it. they fight so that people have liberties. they fight so people have the liberty to protest, whatever it may be. in fact I find it disrespectful to be speaking for those dead soldiers on people using the rights they died fighting for.
here is donald Annoying Orange tweeting about NFL players standing and locking arms instead of the supposedly "respectful and correct" way which is standing with hand and/or hat over your heart.

..and a photo of Annoying Orange being "disrespectful" by not following the standard routine (not sure if this is photoshopped or not but it doesnt look like it)
and a video of Annoying Orange being "disrespectful"............Maybe he was tired... Wasnt paying attention??? Who knows... but for someone who is so adamant about others respecting the flag, he should atleast be more careful about respecting it the "correct" way or rather the way we have been taught to "respect" it.
The flag/anthem is a symbol of our free nation and democracy and also symbolizes our liberties as citizens. It is more "disrespectful" to the flag/anthem to ignore the denied liberties of others and then go and call others disrespectful for utilizing their protected liberties to bring attention to the denied liberties of others. Kneeling during the anthem is probably the most respectful way possible to protest denied liberties that the flag/anthem is supposed to symbolize.
