I mean we were supposed to have EVAs a couple years ago so I'm disappointed

EVAs aren't really robots tho

Y'all know about South Korea's mech, right? The Method-2?

ur mom is an evangelion

I'm not a mechanical or military engineer, but I'm personally a little skeptical about giant robots being the future off combat. If we did go down the path I hope they would be like ATs from Mobile Armored Trooper Votoms.

robots are forever going to be controlled by hydraulics and therefore are forever clunky, imo

that's not an opinion, that's just being incorrect

That was supposed to be a reply to the above comment
Also it does seem like these are being piloted from the inside, ye?

only if we don't work on improving them. just look at stuff like computers and whatnot. put in the work and research to improve something and it can get smaller and less clunky

holy stuff that purple hair woman was so annoying I legit muted her

give me another option of how a 600 lb piece of metal could be viably moved

btw the american victory felt a little cheap lol. Japan won the first round, the second round tied (despite a massive US advantage) and US won the 3rd round--and then everyone acted like the US had a massive victory. didn't they like... tie? idk, felt like japan was a lot better in every way except for the fact that it was a lot smaller and lighter than the US robots. felt like they shouldve had a weight bracket since the US robot was taller and like 4x heavier than the japanese robot.

you realize the whole things scripted right? this is more like wwe, not robot ufc

motors....??? even if it is hydraulics it can be supplemented by motors for faster movement. have you not seen bostondynamics’ stuff? sure, massive robots cant move as fast without a stuffload more power, but it doesnt mean that they’re inevitably clunky. plus battery technology is improving a lot due to the potential demand for when electric cars and automatic driver cars kick off, as well as current demand for mobile industry

yeah it really wasn't a huge victory, if anything they were just... even. one win on both sides with a tie in the middle
