considering how easy it is for systematic buttforgetery to develop amongst governments, I'd say you have to be stupid to not expect some sort of tyrannical event at some point
I said unlikely, and assuming we're talking about the united states government which is built entirely against this stuff, it's stupid to pull up "we need guns against the government" in an argument about guns when in reality it's 1) hardly going to happen in your lifetime or in 100 years or 2) the ""war"" that happens will be over before it starts because you rely on some outdated amendment

have fun living with that tin foil hat over your head then, it's loving stupid

strong words since you don't think governments are capable of becoming corrupt

We need to ban chainsaw bayonets

the more these things happen the more appealing compulsory firearm ownership and concealed carry licenses look, though I realize that's an extreme

Hey, worked in Kennesaw!

strong words since you don't think governments are capable of becoming corrupt
I know you're handicapped, but again, we're talking about the united states government here. I shouldn't have to say it 20 loving times that it is unlikely of becoming corrupt, hell I even loving acknowledged your baby ass point when I mentioned north korea

This could've been prevented if we didn't allow dishonorably discharged wife beaters to buy guns at the federal level.

Wait a minute

strong words since you don't think governments are capable of becoming corrupt

blatant low-effort strawman

if you're gonna ignore the fact that he's talking about the extreme scenario of the US government turning on its citizens (ergo, mass control, not "quell dangerous rebellion which we have constitutional justification for opposing" (e.g. whiskey rebellion or US civil war)) and violating the US constitution, then why even bother

In the case of a civil war your guns would probably be seized by the nearest rebel group so it really wouldn't matter

do i just strike some nerve with you that i don't with other people or what

this is like an exact reason why people should have guns in the first place

Honestly I just think they're fun to shoot at dueling plates. Guns aren't really that good for defense cuz usually the attacker will have the advantage...

Still tho I think the whole caliber argument is probably the stupidest thing to come out of this thread

do i just strike some nerve with you that i don't with other people or what
are you saying you aren't one of the most annoying forum goers

Only if you have 0 tactical prowess bro

we know it's unlikely that the government is gonna go batstuff on us. it's also unlikely that someone's gonna burst through my bedroom window and try and cave my skull in, but i'll still have a bayonet ready to jam in his spinal cord should it ever happen instead of having nothing but air to hold in my hands

if we're talking about war here or home defense, the defender usually has the advantage due to knowledge of the landscape or layout of your home

i mean most of the responses to my drama would say no so
