Author Topic: What's the most you would buy a game for?  (Read 3802 times)

If there was a game that you REALLY wanted, one that was better than any other game on planet Earth, what's the max price you would pay for that game?
I would pay max of 70 for Half-Life 3

If it was "perfect" like in the poll that would imply it would be so astonishingly amazing that it would have completely earth-shatteringly positive impacts on not just my life but the lives of everyone around me.

That's worth way more than $100.

if it was literally the game to replace all games, i'd pay >$1k for it
I mean, I've already invested more than that into hardware to play games on

Ahaha just what I was thinking.

One of the best games I've ever played, which I refer to as a masterpiece is INSIDE. Having already played playdead's previous title LIMBO I knew Inside would be incredible. Yet I waited a full year before I purchased it so I could get it for 50% off at $14.
edit: actually it was 45% off and it's the worst sale I've done. I only buy games on discount because I already have too many.

no amount of games is too many

yeah if you're saying it's literally the best game ever made, leaps and bounds better than anything ever released, then i'd pay more than $100
assuming it's just a really well acclaimed game that appeals to me, about $100 is my limit

Most Expensive Game Purchases By Category:
Retro Game: $450 - LEGO Stunt Rally Sealed Big Box
Collector's Edition: $350 - Destiny 2 Collector's Edition
New Release: $140 - Far Cry 5

Money doesn't concern me.

warsow is the best game and its free so that's how much i'm willing to pay

The thing is.

Even if it were the most perfect game in the world. And would blow all my expectations off the planet. I wouldn't know it until after I paid for it.
And judging it based on what other people say. Well. I don't need to explain that.

So, whether or not it's the perfect game that I would enjoy the most or not. I don't feel comfortable paying more than 60. And even then, I'm usually waiting for a sale.

maybe 80 im kinda cheap

70 because some games are 69.99 now instead of 59.99. I remember back then they started from 39.99 and increased by 10 over the years.

$60 is my absolute max but anything about $10 is enough to put me off, I'd have to really want it

completely this, I'm thankful for steam refund and let's play videos when they don't spoil things but those haven't always covered it for me
