But do you have to give a stuff if youre on windows/linux?

if you think it’s bad for consumers- imagine how bad it is for companies with absurd amounts of intel-based servers
Microsoft Azure, AWS, Linode, DigitalOcean, Vultr, OVH... the list goes on and on

imagine the impact it’s going to have on people who have massive EC2 instances
a lot of companies are about to be loving pissed @ intel
not to mention all the render farms that use intel. rip hollywood

This makes no sense computer wise. Intel processors don't just run macOS. Whatever OS is running on these processors are screwed.

Depending on how serious this turns out to be, we might see a hit in the total computing power of the human race until there is a permanent fix. Also, Intel's stocks:

I wouldn't suggest buying now if you're interested because once this becomes mainstream (if it does) stocks will hiccup again.

I know Macs use Intel CPUs. Is that patch happening for MacOS as well?

Yeah, they can't leave a massive hardware flaw unpatched so unfortunately after updating all your Intel-carrying devices, they'll be 17-30% slower depending on what kind of work you're doing.
