it feels like youtubes approach to "making money off your content" is crushing them. what was just a video hosting site and literally nothing else is now this like, tv-esque family friendly haven for advertisers
which actually isnt a family friendly haven for advertisers because theres like, 6 million hours of footage uploaded to youtube every day. 6 million hours every single day. there is no way youtube can actually manage all that. i genuinely dont think youtube can moderate that kind of traffic, UNLESS they just start hiring. like, no background checks, no experience checks, just hire anyone you can that remotely fits the field so that we can meet this un-meetable demand as soon as possible
which inevitably leads to youtube hiring moderators that have hardcore agendas, have no problem abusing their power, and will do so until youtube stops them, which youtube most likely cant, or rather, cant do often enough because they have to break even which they cant do if advertisers dont feel like they can advertise there
it feels like an unfortunate downward cycle for youtube. things like this will just 'accidentally' happen again until youtube finally collapses under its own weight. it happened when that one moderator put logan pauls Self Delete forest video on number 1 trending, it happened with this silence of conservative media, it will happen to the next big thing that gets people titties in a twist...... i wOnDeR wHaT wIlL hApPeN nExT 0.o
